PASTOR - Alan Six
In May 1994, Trinity Memorial Baptist Church in Marlin, TX called Alan as Pastor where he served for 12 years. Although he loved Marlin and the church, in 2006, the Six family felt God's leading them away from there to move to Fort Worth in order for him to complete his ministry training at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. God has greatly blessed the Six family throughout the "seminary day." These years were a time of renewal and growth for the whole family. The Six family is constantly seeking God's will for their lives as they seek to follow Him step by step, knowing that He is in control. MINISTER OF YOUTH - Jonathan Weldon Hello, my name is Jonathan Weldon. I am from Orange, TX; where I spent my Junior High and High School educations. I have since been through 4 years of college at Baylor University and graduated in May of 2009. I am currently a student at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and just completed my first semester. I have a passion to serve youth and to serve God first and foremost. I do not believe in youth "groups", because that denotes just meeting for no purpose. I believe in youth ministry because that serves a purpose; that we are meeting to glorify God and edify ourselves in His word. The church and the youth ministry, and any other ministry, are to be cohesive units working together to serve God's will and purpose for us here on this earth. Any questions you might have, just shoot me an e-mail. MINISTER OF CHILDREN - Sharon Crocker My name is Sharon Crocker. I was born and raised in Cleburne, Texas and married my High School sweetheart, Paul. We have raised 3 children and are now blessed with 10 beautiful grandchildren. I taught Pre-K for over 20 years. After leaving the classroom, God showed me that He had been preparing me for Children's Ministry. He lead me to First Baptist Church Newark, and blessed me by allowing me to serve as the Children's Ministry Director since 2008. It is our desire at First Baptist to reach out to children and their families in our community, to build and nurture them in their faith, so they can praise God with their lives. For more information on the Children's Ministry you may e-mail me at SHARHEA@att.net MINISTER OF MUSIC - Position is currently vacant

My name is Sherry Baggett Edgemon. I have lived in the Newark area most of my life. I joined First Baptist Church of Newark in 1955. I went to Newark Elementary School and graduated from 8th grade and then completed my education at Boyd High School in 1962. I married my high school beau, James, in June 1962. We have three wonderful daughters, a great son-in-law, and two precious granddaughters. When our youngest daughter was four, I went to work for the City of Newark as City Secretary. I retired from that position in Dec. 2009 with 31 years. In mid December 2009 I was offered the part time position of Church Secretary. This job is wonderful and I am so thankful to the Lord for giving me the opportunity to work here in my own church with my church family, whom I love dearly. If you are looking for a church home, we would absolutely love for you to come and join us or if you'd just like to come and visit and get acquainted, we are located across from the Family Dollar in Newark at 1572 FM 3433. |
