What We Believe We, the fellowshipping group of believers at First Baptist Church in Newark, would like to give you every opportunity to know as much about us as you want. One way we can accomplish this is to let you know what we believe. It is essential for an autonomous body like the church to make their beliefs available to those seeking membership. If you are looking for a church home, but would like to know the mindset of our church, here are the core beliefs of our church. Since First Baptist Church of Newark is a member of the Southern Baptist Convention, there are certain foundational beliefs stated in our Convention's constitution to which we hold. We also hold to other beliefs, some of which describe in more detail than the Baptist Faith and Message our beliefs. We are also duly aligned with the Southern Baptist of Texas.
