about our church history

About Our Church
In 2000, First Baptist Church of Newark celebrated its 100 Year Anniversary. Our church has now been an active part of Newark for 109 years and we are looking forward to the places God is leading us. If you would like to know the some of the history of our church, please keep reading. While past experiences have shaped who we are today, we try to place God's current ministry opportunities and future for us at a higher priority to have maximum Kingdom impact during our time on earth.

FBC Newark now has a new home at 1572 FM 3433, between Newark and Rhome. Our first worship services were held on Father's Day, June 18, 2006. We still have a few items to complete on the interior and our landscaping is not finished, but our offices are open each morning Monday through Thursday and weekly services are held to lift high the name of Jesus Christ. Our next phase of planned construction will include a permanent sanctuary, but is still several years away. Below is an artist's rendering of the completed project, though if you drive by the property, you will see similarities rather than an exact depiction.

Newark Bikers Church is currently utilizing our old facilities at 508 Main Street.
